Free Workshops For SG/PRC and IRC Families

Familias First is proud to announce that we are presenting the following three free workshops online: CLAP (Creating Leadership Among Parents), CARES (The Client Access and Resolution for Essential Services), and PEP Talk (The Empowerment Project Talk). These workshops are funded by the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) for the Latino Community with the goal of increasing the accessibility of services provided by the San Gabriel/Pomona Regional Center (SG/PRC), the Inland Regional Center (IRC), and the Eastern Los Angeles Regional Center (ELARC).

The CARES and CLAP workshops are divided into four sessions, once per week for SG/PRC and IRC families. The PEP Talk workshop consists of three sessions, once per week for ELARC families. Although each workshop is aimed to serve specific regional centers, all Regional Center families are invited to register.

Learn the fair hearing process and the roles played by parents and the Regional Center (RC) staff.
Develop a partnership with the RC and overcome barriers that hinder access to services for your child.
Identify the steps to take when denied and increase your accuracy in requesting support.
Empower your request and make your voice impactful.
